Music is more mobile than ever these days, especially with nearly everyone owning an iPod, a cell phone, or both. Most mobile phones will even function as a music player now. Audiobooks are growing in popularity as well and can be played via an iPod.

If you love your music and can’t leave home without it, then you’re probably pretty particular about the type of headphones you use. A multitude of options exist for you, and it can be hard to choose just one pair at a time. Many people own more than one pair, but choosing is always a big part of the purchasing process, regardless of how many pairs of headphones you might already own.

Yes, the choices are endless. Over-ear or in-ear, extra bass or regular, colorful or plain, wired or wireless. It’s that last option that can be an important one, especially if you move around a lot and are constantly getting caught up in the cord from your headphones. There are many good options for wireless headphones on the market today.

  • Pioneer makes a great pair of wireless headphones that offer surround sound. The SE-DIR800C models are very light and work via infrared technology. Be aware, though, that a direct line of communication must be kept between the head phones and the base station. Audio is very clear.
  • Nokis makes a bluetooth headset that offers superior sound. The BH-905 model is also noise-cancelling, making your audio experience even clearer.
  • Sennhesier makes a set of headphones that last a long time. The RS130 model runs on two AAA batteries and can last for up to an entire day when charged fully.
